I am not sure if I already reached the age so I get a strong moral sense and the sense of justice in my heart.
One day morning I just took the bus for work as usual. One old man wanted to get on the bus; however, he couldn’t. One of his legs just could’t prop up its muscle. A girl and I tried to help him to get on the bus. Finally, the old man stood on the bus.
The old man held the handrail and stood in front of the vacancies. I saw the struggling of him. I think he was worried that he couldn’t stand up by himself once he sat down. I did see the fears from his face.
The bus driver was waiting for him. Few minutes later, the old man didn’t sit down. The driver asked him to sit down. The passengers also suggested him sat down. I saw the hesitation from the old man. He wanted to sit, but “couldn’t he”?

The driver just raised his voice and said: “Why don’t you just sit down! You couldn’t even stand well.” ― with blame.
The old man wanted to say something but he didn’t. The driver didn’t close the conversation and he started to talk to another passenger about this issue. The driver just showed his disagreement on those people who didn’t sit down but fell on the bus. The driver said there was an old lady who fell down on his bus, he spent a long time closing the case. He felt a bit angry and innocent from the kinds of things. He blamed the old man again. In public. He didn’t mention the old man exactly, but all the passengers knew he meant that old man.
The old man covered his face with his hands.
I felt terrible about this situation, I really wanted to stop the driver. I know it’s a
verbal bullying. The driver not only hurt the old man’s heart but also his self-esteem.

The people were getting more on the bus. When the old man tried to get off from the bus, he took more energy on it. One passenger and the driver got off from the bus to help the old man because he couldn’t stand up. He refused all the assistance and help from others, he sat on the ground. He was fighting with his legs and also fighting with his lofty and unyielding.
I felt sorry that I didn’t stop the driver and let the old man know someone could stand up for him.
I would say the driver is a good one; however, he chose the wrong way to show his worry to his passengers. Before I got off the bus, I decided to do one thing. I wrote a note to the driver.
“ Dear Driver,
First, I would like to thank you for your kindness to your passengers. Thank you for all the good services and everything to us. Also, I want to thank you to help the old man.
The old man actually wants to sit down, but he is afraid that he can’t stand up again by himself. He doesn’t want to cause troubles to others. If you can try another way to help your passengers in the future, I believe someone like this old man would be very grateful to you.
Thank you again and wish you a wonderful day!
A Passenger”

In “Sunrise”, the lyrics said
“I won’t go to my grave, until the difference is made
until the difference is made, until the difference is made
From time to time, there arise among human beings,
people who seem to exude love, as naturally as sun, gives out heat.”
《Sunrise》
We need more empathy in this world.
